Completing the Shield Guard Installation

Once you acquire a Shield Guard demo license and install the Shield Guard Agent on one or more MFPs, the following occurs for each MFP:

  1. The Shield Guard agent connects to the Shield Guard Portal (provided the user who acquired the license and the user who installed the agent used the same MarketPlace account).

  2. The portal automatically adds the MFP to the Devices page on the Shield Guard portal.

For each MFP you want to monitor, you must assign a security policy before you can monitor its security status. The portal includes a standard policy, or you can create your own custom policies. Once you assign a policy to a device, the following occurs:

    • The agent reports the security status of the MFP’s security settings to the portal.

    • The portal compares the MFP’s security statuses with the security policy assigned to the MFP.

    • The portal indicates whether or not the MFP is in compliance with the assigned security policy.

    • The Devices page on the Shield Guard portal updates continuously, at regular intervals, with the security status of each MFP in your license plan.
